Tips + Tricks

for the best  STRAWberry Crumble

Tip #1

Use cold butter for the crumble topping

Cut the butter into small cubes and use your hands to work it into the dry ingredients. Squeeze the mixture together until clumps form.

Tip #2

Use fresh strawberries

Frozen strawberries will become overly mushy while baking, so stick to fresh (or at least only a few days past their prime) strawberries.

Tip #3

don't skimp on the crumble

Although it may seem like an excessive amount, trust me on this - we tested several crumble to strawberry ratios and this version was the clear winner.

Tip #4

bake at a lower temperature

To prevent the topping from browning too quickly before the strawberries have sufficiently broken down, we bake the crumble at 350°F (180°C).

Tip #5

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream

Let the crumble sit for 10 minutes to set up and then serve with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream!

This simple dessert is a fresh and easy treat for spring and summer!
