Ingredients
- ½ cup (115 grams) unsalted butter
- 9 ounces (250 grams) semisweet chocolate
- 1 tablespoon orange zest, grated
- 5 ounces (150 grams) cookies* (such as digestive biscuits)
extras (optional)
- cocoa powder
- granulated sugar
- hazelnuts or almonds*
Instructions
- Melt chocolate and butter separately – you can use a microwave for this! Combine into one bowl.
- Add the grated orange zest to the bowl.
- Break the cookies into small pieces. Add them to the bowl with the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
- Pour the mixture onto a hard surface lined with foil or baking paper. Roll the mixture into a cylinder (wrapping it with the foil) about 13″ long. Place it in the freezer for three hours to chill.
- Cut into round pieces and serve!
- Store in the refrigerator or freezer.
Notes
Cookies: For this recipe, you’ll need a simple, hard cookie. I would normally use digestive biscuits, but they can be hard to find in the US. I’ve found that animal crackers work great and they are also cheap!
Nuts: If you use nuts, reduce the amount of cookies by the amount of nuts.
